Tamara de Lempicka: Behind the Scenes

Join us Thursday June 20th as Anne Paddy, Historian, Writer, Researcher, and Archivist of Tamara de Lempicka explores the paintings of the Polish painter who spent her working life in France and the United States. Best known for her polished Art Deco portraits of aristocrats and the wealthy and for her highly stylized paintings of nudes, Anne’s book takes the perspective of focusing on Tamara’s masterpieces and the journey of these artworks into the hands of fortunate collectors. Anne will share the captivating stories of the charismatic subjects that inhabit the portraits and their relationship with Tamara. After the lecture Anne will be available for book signings.

The event will be held at Le Shoppe Modern’s showroom 3325 Orchard Lake Rd. Keego Harbor. The Le Shoppe Modern is Metro Detroit’s largest upscale Mid-Century Modern store with over 25,000 square feet of the finest collection of unique, iconic 20th Century furniture, fine art, home décor, lighting, and glass. The evening will also include light bites, wine and of course bubbles. If you are an admirer of Tamara de Lempicka’s work, you won’t want to miss this event!
